TB4 Series, 1 mm Pitch, Center Lock, FPC/FFC-to-Board Connector

The TB4 series is reliable in harsh environments due to the innovative design  and the high-quality materials used. The connector can withstand  temperature ranges of up to 125 °C, which satisfies severe automotive  requirements that allow the connector to be placed near engine  compartments. The TB4 connectors are USCAR-2 compliant. 

Assembly involves easily inserting the FPC/FFC into the plug housing and securing it with the retainer to enhance efficiency and reduce complexity. In addition, the retainer ensures mechanical stability and terminal position assurance. By eliminating traditional terminals, the TB4 series achieves significant weight and space savings whilst providing increased reliability through a more secure and stable connection. This makes it a suitable solution for next-generation automotive designs. 

 

The series is engineered with a 1.0 mm pitch and a low mated height profile of just 4.5 mm, optimizing space efficiency.

The connectors’ two-piece structure allows for seamless mating, utilizing a guide key design that prevents misalignment and damage that can be caused by incorrect insertion. 

 

To ensure operator safety, the TB4 incorporates a finger protection feature in the receptacle, structured with enough depth to prevent accidental touch with conductive elements. Additionally, the plug’s protective guide structure prevents the contacts being touched. This prevents the risk of electric shock in addition to strengthening the reliability and preventing damage due to incorrect mating. 

 

Suitable applications include automotive, battery management systems,  combination lamps, ADAS-ECU, construction machinery battery, storage  battery modules, industrial robots and storage batteries.
